This video recording contains footage taken at the crash site of a HH-IN Iroquois "Huey" Helicopter, call sign "Gentle 17," on October 20, 1992. The footage commences after arrival of the crew at the scene of the helicopter crash and consists of preliminary descriptions of how the helicopter came to crash; where initial impact on the mountain face occurred, descriptions of debris field, and descriptions of how the wreckage was to be disassembled at the crash site and transported back to McMurdo Station for analysis.

Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd Jr. (October 25, 1888 – March 11, 1957) was an American naval officer and explorer.
